Class Details

 
 

Children’s art classes meet for 75 minutes; and adult classes meet for an hour and a half.

Classes are semester long: fall classes run from late August through mid-December, and spring classes run from early January through May. During the summer we host several week long summer camps. Classes are capped at 8 to 9 students to maximize one-on-one instruction and guidance for each student. Below you will find the class schedule.

Tuition for art classes is paid by the semester up front. Tuition for the fall semester (mid-August through mid-December) is $285 per student. Spring semester tuition is $325 (January through most of May).

There is a $40 supply fee for the semester for each student due at the time of registration.

Printmaking Extravaganza   June 16-20.  9am-12pm.   –  5 spots available     Teacher: Julie

For kids ages 11-17.  $200 for the week.

In this summer camp we will learn about several types of printmaking including several techniques of monotypes, relief prints, drypoints, and textural plate printmaking. Children will learn the fun of creating multiples! Sign up by Apr. 1st with a nonrefundable $50 deposit toward the camp.

 

Drawing Foundations     June 23-27.  9am-12pm –   9 spots available Teacher: Julie

For kids ages 8-16. $175 for the week.

This summer camp focuses on drawing techniques, design, and composition. Drawing techniques and mediums covered will include in graphite, charcoal, white charcoal, pastels, colored pencils, and pen & ink. Through these drawing mediums, students will learn linear perspective, shading and blending, shape and proportion through still life drawing, how to draw animals and various textures, and how to work with line and fine detail in drawing natural forms. Animal Exploration   June 23-27.  2pm-5pm.   –  7 spots available                           Teacher: Tyler

For kids ages 6-12.  $175 for the week.

In this summer camp we will explore various techniques in art to create images of the young artists’ favorite animals. We will explore various techniques including charcoal drawing, pastels, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, and sculpture. Sign up by Apr. 1st with a nonrefundable $50 deposit toward the camp.

 

Animal Exploration ADVANCED   July 7-11.  9am-12pm.   –  5 spots available                  Teacher: Tyler

For kids ages 8-16.  $175 for the week.

If your child has already taken the animal exploration camp in a past summer camp or is an older, move advanced artist – this is the camp for you! We will be taking the techniques from the original animal camp to a new level – creating artwork that is more complex, detailed, and challenging. We will explore various techniques including charcoal drawing, pastels, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, and sculpture. Sign up by Apr. 1st with a nonrefundable $50 deposit toward the camp.

 

Glory to God art camp   July 7-11.  2pm-5pm.   –  8 spots available                         Teacher: Tyler

For kids ages 8-16.  $175 for the week.

This summer camp with center around bringing glory to God. These young artists will create paintings of God’s creation including mountains (while thinking about how our faith can move mountains) and the beauty of a sunset. Other themes include drawing and painting an olive tree and stream, a butterfly (to symbolize how we are made new creations), a nativity, stained glass window, and a cityscape of Jerusalem or Bethlehem. Nature Lovers   July 14-18.  9am-12pm.   – 6 spots available Teacher: Julie

For kids ages 6-16.  $175 for the week.

In this summer camp we will explore various techniques in art to create images of nature around us. These little artists will create beautiful landscape paintings, drawings of plants and flowers, animals, and more! We will explore various techniques including charcoal drawing, pastels, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, and sculpture. Sign up by Apr. 1st with a nonrefundable $50 deposit toward the camp.

 

Painting with Tyler      July 14-18.  2pm-5pm.   – 7 spots available                Teacher: Tyler

For kids ages 6-16. $175 for the week.

In this summer camp we will explore various techniques in watercolor, gouache, and acrylic painting. We will create works of art in a variety of subject matter including landscapes, flowers, and animals. Sign up by Apr. 1st with a nonrefundable $50 deposit toward the camp.

 

   

Learning From the Masters      July 28-Aug. 1.  9am-12pm.    –  8 spots available Teacher: Julie

For kids ages 6-16. $175 for the week.

In this summer camp we will explore various artists from art history. Art history can be so fun and exciting! Students will learn about the artists, their techniques, and the art style of that art period. In learning about these artists, students will learn drawing techniques including graphite, charcoal, and pastels, and various painting techniques to create copies of famous paintings from history. The students will work from master artists such as Leonardo DaVinci, Michelangelo, Albrecht Dürer, Rembrandt, Picasso, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, Van Gogh, and Georges Seurat.  Sign up by Apr. 1st with a nonrefundable $50 deposit toward the camp.

 

Sketchbooking with Tyler           July 28-Aug. 1.  2pm-5pm         –  8 spots available       Teacher: Tyler

For kids ages 8-16.  $175 for the week.

In this summer camp, Tyler will lead these young artists to experiment with various mediums and techniques in their own sketchbook. Students will be provided with a hardback professional artist’s sketchbook. Together they will learn about creating thumbnail composition studies for larger drawings, and will create finished pieces in their sketchbooks. Sketches will include drawing from observation (both indoors and outdoors), working from photos, and drawing in the style of master artists. We will explore working with graphite, pen & ink, watercolor, and gouache. After this camp, students can continue creating art in their sketchbook at home.

My Classes

Rooster’s Crow Studio is great for students of all abilities… from beginner to experienced. We mold each project to the needs and abilities of each student. The only requirement is a passion for art and strong drive to work.
